Vermont Downtowns and Wal-Mart
St. Albans, Site of Proposed Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart is proposing to build a 150,000 square foot big box in this cornfield
on the edge of town. Across the highway, Jeff Davis, developer of the
Williston, VT big boxes, has an option to purchase the former drive-in theater.
Local activists, historic preservation and environmental organizations are
actively opposing the proposed big box.
